Georgia is now on the brink of building the infrastructure for services and resources so that medically fragile children can go home instead of being institutionalized for life. Dream House advocacy efforts have given a voice and hope to this soaring pediatric population.

Dream House has set the standard for home care of medically fragile children which will some day have a national impact! With community support statewide, Dream House makes it possible for these kids to leave the hospital sooner, keep them out of institutional care, and give them the home, family and future each one so desperately needs to survive.

The Dream House Family for Keeps™ Transition Care Advocacy Program
strives to increase public awareness for medically fragile children and their needs. We define how communities can support these children and meet their needs through collaborative efforts between government agencies, businesses, civic groups and service providers.

Georgia House Bill 984 Passes the Senate 51-0!

This past year, Dream House Founder and CEO Laura Moore was very instrumental in helping Georgia Representative Clay Cox (District 102) draft HB984.

The bill adds a new definition relating to children’s transition care centers for medically fragile children.

Laura impacted our legislators with her absolute conviction and proven success. Carried in the Senate by Don Balfour, HB984 passed both the House and Senate in March 2008.
