Dream House was created to give children with complex health care issues the quality of life they deserve by providing them with a dream home, a family and a future. Incorporated in 2001, Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit, charity organization.
The Dream House unique transition care model, programs and services offer support resources necessary to increase the number of families and communities prepared to care for these children.
Community Impact
Since 2001, Dream House has served more than 935 families caring for over 900 medically fragile children in 40 of 159 Georgia counties, with the help of nearly 600 volunteers and thousands of generous corporate and individual supporters.
Changing Lives Forever
In 2007, the Dream House Lilburn Transition Care Home completed a pilot program by providing foster care for six children and respite care for an additional six children. This unique program has had a 100% success rate in reuniting these children with their biological families or finding adoptive homes. These first Dream House kids went home to their families healthier and happier than when they arrived at Dream House. Plus, the cost of their direct daily care was at a 50% savings over the cost of hospitalization!
This program has been in transition itself the past year as we fully implement our transition care model and expand to offer services to more children and families all over the state of Georgia.
